The purpose of the Release Notes document is to communicate major new features and changes in this release of the Contact Manager.
It also documents known problems and workarounds.
2. About This Release
Thank you for using Contacts Manager. Contacts Manager V.4.0 includes new features, enhancements and bug fixes. We strongly
recommend that you read the entire document carefully.
3. Compatible Products
3.1. Compatibility:
This product has been tested on the following platforms:
• Microsoft Windows (7 sp1, 8 and 8.1).
• Microsoft Server Windows (2008 R2, 2012 and 2012 R2).
3.2. Environment requirements:
Pre-installed Software
- Domain Member Machine that should not has any role on Lync Server.
- Microsoft Lync Server 2013 or Microsoft Lync Server 2010.
- [For UCS] Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.
Contacts Manager Prerequisites
- .Net framework 3.5.
- .Net framework 4.5.
- CM configuration.
- Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant.
- Microsoft Online Services Module for Windows Power-Shell
Contacts Manager Prerequisites for Lync Server 2010
- Visual C++ 2008 redistributable.
- Microsoft Lync server 2010 core component.
Contacts Manager Prerequisites for Lync Server 2013
- Visual C++ 2012 redistributable for Lync Server 2013.
- Microsoft Lync server 2013 core component (CU5) for Lync Server 2013.
Permissions
The User must be member in following groups
- Domain Admins.
- RTCU NIVERSAL SERVER ADMINS
- RTCHS UNIVERSAL COMPONENT SERVICES
- ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT [for UCS and Online].
4. New Features
Here is a list of new and updated features included with this release:
• Now, Contacts Manager can be installed on any machine that should not have role on Lync, and cannot be installed on Lync server.
• Support Office 365 and Unified Contacts Store (UCS).
• Directly send Log file to support via outlook account.
• Wipe and populate immediately, without signing out (not available for UCS and Online).
• Performance enhancement in Wipe All for UCS and Online.
• Exporting and importing contacts new feature.
• Fix for the following bugs:
o Retrieving pool.
o MMC crash.
o Updating.
o Copy, Remove, Export and Import.
• Other bugs fixes and improvements.
5. Known Bugs and Limitations
5.1. General Note
Technical Limitations in this release of the software are described below:
• Contacts Manager only supports Office 365 Lync accounts that configured as UCS.
5.2. Known Bugs
Known bugs in this release of the software are described below:
• Populating or wiping telephone contacts from UCS or Office 365 Lync Users not supported.
• Pressing cancel during populating or wiping process will cancel applying action on the remaining users, not roll back action applied on previous users.
